Architects of Xian Dai Design guide post-quake reconstruction
ssued Time :
Yu haoÓÝ ºÀ  On the night of May 23, a team of architects of Xian Dai Architectural Design led by Mr. Long Ge, vice president of the group company, rushed to the quake zone to provide site directions to help set up makeshift shelters in the quake-stricken area.
Before then, a ¡°Quake Zone Reconstruction Squad¡± sent by the group company, comprised of professionals in architecture, structure and equipment, had worked 48 hours consecutively and completed designing 20,000 makeshift shelters for the quake-hit area. The squad is said to have undertaken the design for a total of 80,000 such makeshift shelters.
The makeshift shelters for relocation adopt the light-weight color-coated sandwich boards or light-steel stud inorganic materials, and thermal-insulated firewall materials. They are also anti-seismic and can last three to five years. Moreover, entry-exit for the wounded and disabled persons is taken into consideration in their design. They are equipped with LNG and sanitation facilities. One showering facility will be built for every 50 makeshift shelters; one primary school and one small shop will be built for every 1,000 shelters; and facilities such as a middle school, a grain station and a sewage processing plant will be built for 2,000 shelters.
